Where in the world is Daddy?

Matt was gone 12 days in the month of February. It wasn't my favorite thing, but I managed to survive without him. It is amazing what I can do when I HAVE to. He went to Denver, CO for 5 days at the beginning of the month. Then he went to Tucson, AZ one week and back to Phoenix, AZ the next week for a conference. The girls missed him, but there are definitely advantages to Dad being gone:

1 - I absolutely refuse to waste any extra energy on dinner than is necessary. We eat cold cereal, Mac'nCheese, scrambled eggs and chicken nuggets. The girls think it's great that I let them eat what they really want to.
2- Movie night! Lots of Popcorn. Girl flicks (Ella Enchanted, Cinderella)
3- McDonald's play place for lunch because it is freezing outside and the girls need to use a little bit more energy (Why is it that all Conferences are held in places with great weather- Matt never fails to mention how nice it is where ever he is at).
4- I can read as long as I want to each evening and don't feel like I am ignoring anyone.
5- I can put the kids to bed early and they never suspect anything -I probably won't get to use this one much longer :(
6- Phone calls from Dad!

Now Matt is home to stay for a whole month. He has three more trips to make in April and May, but I'm not going to think about it too much. Meanwhile it is his turn to get up with the children in the middle of the night. :)

You go girl. It is always nice to have your spouse back. Megan was in town this weekend and she came over for dinner and visiting. It was fun to catch up with her and her family. She gave me your blog and said it was weird because you are a pretty consistent blogger. She thought maybe you were pregnant and sick. But maybe just having Matt gone for 12 days could be the reason, too...Take care and tell Matt hi. You kids are beautiful!

Hopefully you got lots of Gone With the Wind in while he was gone :).

Yeah! I started G with the W yesterday. I'm only on page 30 though, so I've got about, oh, 1400 to go.

Way to look on the bright side. I agree about the dinners. One night I made pancakes, eggs, and bacon when Phillip was gone. Hunter looked at his plate and said "there's no way I can eat all this." It was funny.
