Graduation

Today we went to Mariah's preschool graduation. She had a collision at the playground before the ceremony, and wasn't too happy to be there after that. She and Alex graduated from their class. Grandpa and Grandma Webb are in town (no, they didn't come just for the graduation). She has been a peer model this year at a school that has children with all kinds of disabilities. It has been good for her to learn compassion, kindness and following directions. She is "SOOOOOO excited" for kindergarten (mostly because she has observed the children during recess) and a little disappointed that she has to wait all summer before starting. Congradulations Mariah!!!

Lindsay Turns 2 months

Last week Lindsay turned two months old. I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. She is the perfect baby! She already weighs 10.2 lbs, sleeps through the night and smiles often. We love having her in our home.
Lindsay Ray Webb was born on March 19, 2008. Her middle name is after my Grandpa Ray Oakeson who passed away last fall. He was one of my best friends and I thought it only fitting to name Lindsay after him. At first her name was spelled Rae, but after a week, a few too many tears and extra hormones, I changed the spelling to Ray. It seemed to me that LindSAY looked better with RAY. Thank goodness for the fabulous people who work at the hospital. It was over two weeks since her birth, but they still managed to change it for me.Ruth and Mariah both like her. Mariah has been a fantastic big sister. She is always willing to play with Lindsay and keep her distracted so I can get other things done. Ruth likes her, but isn't too sure about what to think. As time goes on and Lindsay requires more attention, I actually think she likes her less (but that could just be a two year old thing).

Giraffe's anyone....

On Wednesday this week we went to the St. Louis Temple and stayed the night for a little R&R (not that you ever really get that staying in a hotel room). The girls had a blast jumping on the beds and swimming in the pool. They even slept well. It was Matt who kicked me all night. Next time he gets to share a bed with Ruth!

We decided to go to the zoo because we haven't been there in over a year. Mariah has an obsession with Giraffes. I don't know what it is, but whenever she is asked what her favorite animal is she has always responded with giraffe (cat is her second favorite). This is my favorite picture of her with a giraffe at the Hogle Zoo in Utah when she was two years old.

The last time we went to the St. Louis we headed to the opposite end of the zoo away from the giraffes first. Mariah cried the through the entire zoo that she wanted to see the giraffes. Why didn't we go see the giraffes first? (That delayed gratification thing is a nice idea, but it never works).

Needless to say, we went straight to the giraffes first this time. I wouldn't even let the girls look at much until we got there. No need to repeat past mistakes. It was a good day with not too many tears, and only a few rain drops.

Finally...

After a year of people asking, suggesting, hinting, telling, begging, pleading and even harassing me to start my blog - here you go. I have no intention of keeping up with some of you amazing bloggers, but I hope to do my small part in keeping family and friends informed on the crazy life that we Webb's have here in Missouri. Let the Fun begin!!!
