For what it's worth...Happy Birthday Matt!

Today Matt turns the big 33! As hard as I try to be a loving and good wife, I seem to be failing today. Poor Matt - No presents, no streamers, no sign, not even a card from me (although Mariah made one yesterday at school and gave it to him). His is the last birthday that we come to, and I must be worn out. In fact, I just got side tracked while coming to write this blog and overcooked his cake (does 15 minutes really make that big of a difference?) Back to the store for me. Maybe I'll just buy one today.
Anyway, this post should be about Matt and not about me. I love you! Happy Birthday!

Music - He always has some playing.
Awsome Dad - You can even ask his children.
Teacher - To everyone, he really loves it and is good at it.
Talented - If he doesn't know how, he probably wants to learn to do it.
Happy Helper - Thank you for fixing the car door handle!!!
Everyone thinks he's funny - I laugh all the time.

Centennial Anniversary

Numbers count in this family! I am married to a Math guy. Not knowing how it got started, we keep track each month of how long we have been married. Today we Celebrate our 100 month anniversary. They have been great months and I look forward to 100 more (eight years and four months to go). Thanks Matt! We had Mariah take this picture of us because, of course, we have almost none of the two of us together.
To celebrate we made strawberry jam! Yummy!

Who needs San Diego?

When Matt told me yesterday that it was about 60 degrees, overcast and a really windy in San Diego, I was a little more than pleased. It gave me a reason to be happy about being in Missouri and not walking the beach with him in Sunny CA. The girls and I took advantage of the nice weather here and headed to the park for a picnic dinner and play time. It was really great to not have any dishes to do and the kids were worn out. Only two more days and Matt will be back. Yea!

Mariah loves to pose for every picture.

Lindsay wore herself out trying to climb up the slide for most of the evening.

Tagged

I've never done a tag before, mostly because it seems like I never have enough time. This one is too easy to pass up, and I was curious to see what there would be. Fourth folder, fourth file, forth picture.
This is Mariah (on the bottom shelf) and her friend Ally. They were born just a few weeks apart while we lived in California. This was taken a few years later when our families lived just around the block from each other in Provo. Ally and Mariah loved to play together and always had a good time. They look so little in this picture. It is hard to believe that they both will be finishing kindergarten this year. Mariah asked the other day if we could move to Texas (where Ally now lives). Sorry Dayton's, but all I said was that there were large bugs in Texas and she changed her mind.

Crazy Hair Days

For Crazy Hair Day at School this morning Mariah ended up with a zig-zag side part, two lopsided messy buns, held in place by different tulle pompom pony tail holders, and all sprayed with glitter. She was pretty happy, but just really glad that I finally let her eat breakfast.
