This year we had some serious discussions about the Easter Bunny at our
house. We have never had him come to our home, just because bunnies
laying eggs is too weird for me to handle. We usually do something, but
on a much smaller scale, with no Mr. Rabbit. Ruth knows all about the
Easter Bunny because she learned about him at school. Did you know he is
really just a Target employee dressed up like a bunny that visits
people's houses? Obviously you haven't been talking to the little boy in
her Kindergarten class who is an expert. So who is the bunny? Why
doesn't he come to our house? Is he real? The questions just kept
coming. We told our children that Easter Bunny doesn't come to our house
because we have a Grandma who sends us enough chocolate and goodies to
keep us all happy. (Thanks Grandma Webb) Also, we tried to remind them
that Easter is about Jesus - Not Bunnies! He is the most important part.
None of them took the news poorly at all and chocolate was enjoyed by
all.
Perhaps the most startling thing to me, was the mass uprising I had on Easter morning when I asked the girls to wear matching (or at least color coordinated) outfits. Ruth refused and said she never wanted to go to church again if I made her wear that dress (by the way - it was a dress she usually likes to wear). Lindsay sided with Ruth and the tears were flowing. I gave in. I thought it was understood by all that Mom gets to pick the outfits twice a year - Christmas and Easter. Apparently I don't have to wait until they are teenagers to let them year whatever they want, as long as they go to church. So, no cute Easter Sunday Dress Pictures. Here are the one's we took at the Primary Easter Egg hunt on Saturday.

Cora found precisely two eggs before discovering there was candy inside. No more looking, she just wanted to eat! |
