Small and Simple Things

Christmas this year was my favorite ever. I was so worried about the presents I got my girls and that they might be disappointed. It seemed like every time I asked what they wanted it was something different. However, like most things in life, I had worried for no reason. My girls were very happy with what they got. Not only that, the best gifts were ones I hadn't even really thought that much about and all of them came in the Stockings.

Mariah's favorite gift was a Santa Hat. That was her number one thing to get during the last week and she even asked Santa for it.

Ruth got a Harmonica in her stocking. She played it all Christmas day and likes to call it her HUM HUM. It is a little annoying, but I have a few good hiding places.

Lindsay got a shaker/rattle in her stocking (the thing in her mouth). All Christmas morning she would not let it go. If you tried to take it away she started screaming. Ruth and Mariah opened all her presents as her hands were full.

My favorite moment of the morning came after Ruthie opened her present from Mariah. Mariah was so excited to sew (by hand, of course) this little heart shaped pillow for Ruth. She had worked on it for weeks. Ruth said, "Oh Mariah, thank you, it is my favorite." Mariah was beaming.
Kids make Christmas the best and I am so grateful to my little ones. It doesn't take a lot to make them happy. It was a great day to be together and enjoy being a family.
