Summer Tours

We have been very busy out and about visiting Columbia, MO this summer with a lot of friends.
It all started with a tour of the Movie Theater on Friday, June 20. Mariah really enjoyed seeing the movies playing, but her favorite part was getting a piece of movie to take home. Ruth liked the treats in the parking lot after the tour.
Next, Wednesday, June 25 we headed to the Colt Railway station here in town. It's so small that if you blinked you would never see it. We were lucky and got to see a train. The horn was really loud as you can tell by Mariah's reaction. The kids were really impressed with the train erasers and coloring books they got. Ruth sang Chugga chugga choo choo the whole way home. Thanks Lisa for planning this!
Down on the farm was next. We went to the Dairy farm on June 27. It was not my favorite tour because Lindsay was not feeling well and cried most of the time. She is usually so good that I forget how difficult it can be to have three children. However, I have great friends who were willing to help the older girls while I attended to more "pressing matters." The dairy always provides great photo ops. Ruth loved holding onto Tanner Ellingson's hand during most of the tour.
Finally, we went to Culver's Restaurant this week. It is a step up from McDonald's and as mothers, we were grateful to see such a clean Kitchen and restaurant. The kids like checking out the fridge and freezer and really enjoyed the free ice cream at the end. John Paul Williams came along and ended up earning his ice cream by watching all the babies. Thanks!

It looks like you're really enjoying MO and keeping the kids busy at the same time. Great idea to get together and tour. Lots of summer fun.
