Life as I know it.....
Life is good. Even when it is hard. And especially when you have a great family. And even more so when you have an amazing husband. I feel blessed. We are not perfect. But we are trying to do better.
This past year, Matt taught early morning seminary. He loves teaching and it was great for our family to learn more about the Old Testament and hear the scripture mastery often. It was difficult at the beginning of the year as we moved into a new house after school already started and Matt was no longer around in the mornings for breakfast. Everyone missed him. But, after a few months, we settled into a new routine and we were all happier. Mariah and Ruth have learned to help a lot and that has been a huge blessing.
In November I was called to be the Young Women's president. That came as a surprise, but once again, after a few adjustments, it seemed to fit perfectly into our lives. I have amazing councilors who are so willing to help all the time - with anything. And we have terrific Young Women.
The biggest Surprise of all came in January - A new baby Webb on the way!!! (due date- October 2) I honestly took the pregnancy test 100% positive that it would be negative. I only took it because I had a doctors appointment the next day and didn't want to have to take one there to make sure. I even bought a three pack - certain I would need another one someday. Tears fell. Not because I didn't want another baby, just because I knew what being pregnant would mean. Sure enough - I was really sick. Sick enough to end up in the hospital with dehydration. That was the beginning of another blessing - Zofran. While it didn't stop the nausea, I became what Matt liked to call "a functioning wife." It meant I could get up off the couch and sometimes make dinner.
Last month we found out that another little girl will be joining our family. We are super excited, but it really isn't fun to tell people. Everyone (who isn't in our family) was "POSITIVE" that it would be a boy this time, and it is sad to see how disappointed they are. Honestly, we don't like making other people sad and are happy to add more pink to our home. The girls squealed with delight when we told them the news. To celebrate we ate pink ice cream. We are now busy trying to pick out a name (even if we might change it later) and enjoying our summer in Iowa -Swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing with neighbor children, water fights, homemade ice cream, s'mores at the fire pit, and hanging out in the back yard. Life is good.
