A Few More Things...

Yea! I am caught up from summer. The last few weeks have been full of so many fun things, and I finally remembered to take my camera along so we could remember them.

Walk to school day. We live the absolute farthest you can live away from the elementary without being bused. That means we always drive to save time. So my kids took advantage of walk to School day to make sure they got to walk. We left early and it only took us about 15-20 minutes to get to school. We were so fast we got there really early and they had extra playtime.
Navuoo - Again. I know. I know. Right now you are wondering how many times I am going to post about going to Nauvoo. However, in my defense, this time I have to post because we got stuck on the bridge and it was so cool (my children's words). We cross a draw bride (is it still called a draw bridge if it turns instead of going up?) going to and from Nauvoo. On the way back we were the second car to be stopped so they could let two barges cross under the bridge going up the Mississippi. We were on the bridge about 45 minutes. I was a nervous wreck and Matt just kept making fun of me for being so worried that one of my children would go over the edge. I told them they either obeyed Mom's rules (basically going nowhere near the edge, no running, playing or pushing or looking like they were having too much fun) or sit in the car. We all survived - although I did suffer significant heart issues.

With a few friends we went to a Nature center for story time and crafts. It was a beautiful fall day. While we were there we got a picture of our children who were all born within six weeks of each other. All of us were serving in a Primary Presidency together when they were born. They are now all around 1 year. I put another photo that was taken when they were about 4 months old. Hopefully they can grow up good friends.

Fire Station. We also made it to the fire station for some fun. The kids loves looking at the trucks and loading up on free stuff. Their favorite part of the rescue vehicle that they looked at was the mini-fridge.

Museum School. Mariah had school for a week at a few different Museums in downtown Waterloo- Think giant field trip that last a whole week long. You can imagine how exciting it is. It was also a great learning experience. I got to go on two different days and help out. They learned a lot about the culture and history of our area. They had a family night where they presented in groups something that they had learned. Mariah talked about a rock foot warmer.
