Holly is 33 and a Half

My dearest sweetheart had her half birthday today. Why does that matter? Well, because it means her birthday is on January 1st. Our anniversary is December 19th, Christmas is the 25th, and by that time my wallet is pretty empty so we also make special observance of her half birthday. Some have been better than others. One year I bought her a full standing mirror. It was shipped to our house but we were gone on vacation. I had secretly planned for some good friends of ours to set it up. It was thrilling to unpack the car and after each of Holly's trips into the bedroom to dump things off see if she noticed the mirror. I am still waiting to this day--kidding.
This year while Holly took Lindsay into the doctor just yesterday for a regular checkup I hurried Mariah and Ruth to get out paper and crayons and we made her cards. The idea was that we would hide the cards and surprise her with them this morning. Well, first there was a disagreement about where the cards should be hidden. I had put Mariah in charge but Ruth wanted to hide her cards herself (that's right, Ruth made more than one). So Mariah put the cards kind of behind Lindsay's crib. Wouldn't you know Holly cleaned that room last night and found them. Of course she already knew, because Ruth who took a secret oath not to tell her mother sang like a canary the moment she arrived back from the doctor.
This year I got Holly this nice blog posting that she is not expecting. And I ask you to leave a comment, send an email, or call her to say Happy Birthday Holly, I love you!

Hap Ha Birth, Hol... :)

My favorite part of Alice in Wonderland is the Mad Hatter's Tea Party when they celebrate their unbirthdays; it just seems fun to celebrate a "unspecial" (?) day.

See you soon!
