Summer Ends

I cannot believe that summer is coming to an end and it is only the middle of August. Oh well, at least it has been cool enough not to feel like August in Missouri this year. Anything below 90 dgrees with 90% humidity is great with me! However, the bugs seem to think so too and have come out with a vengence. Poor Ruthie!
Anyway, Matt has had a little time off in the last few weeks, so we put in a couple of day trips to see a few sights. First we went to the Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City, again. Matt didn't go with us the first time, and we also were not able to go on the trails around the center. So, we had a good morning walking around and then seeing all the fun stuff at the center again. Matt and Mariah climbed to the top of the fire tower. It was actually at the center that Mariah lost her first tooth. I gave her an apple to eat and it did it's job.
Last weekend we went to St. Louis for the night. Matt and I were able to go to the temple and the girls, once again, enjoyed free cookies, the pool and a wild night in the hotel. On Friday we went to the Magic House. It is like a children's museum/science center. It was free friday night and so there were about a billion people there, but we all had a good time. We look forward to going back next year when they finish their new addition.
You cannot see it very well, but this is a side view of Mariah's face. It was fun to see all the different things you could do at this exhibit. We spent a lot of time there.
