Branson Vacation

We had a fun family vacation with Pa and Ma Webb this week. We spent two days and nights in Branson, MO. Having never been there, we were not sure what to do, but it didn't take long to figure out that there is so much to do that it is almost impossible to decide. It was great to have a vacation to get away from all the stuff to do around the house and enjoy ourselves. The girls just liked having beds to use as trampolines. It is about a four hour drive and the children were nearly perfect. We got to the motel and since it was very warm, we headed to the pool to cool off. Ruthie really took to the water and the sun. Mariah practiced for her swimming lessons that start next week. Lindsay stayed out of the water with Grandpa (who left his trunks in Oregon). We ate yummy pizza for dinner and then decided to go see the Chinese Acrobats because we thought the children would like them. Ruthie fell asleep almost immediately, but Mariah was fascinated and kept saying, "how do they do that?" We didn't really have a good answer because they were amazing.
The next day we headed to the outlet malls for some good shopping. The men took Ruth and Lindsay and Mariah headed with Grandma and I. She really loves shopping! Then it was back to the pool for a little more swimming.
That evening we headed to the Dixie Stampede for dinner and the show. Both girls had a good time and liked seeing the horses and eating with their fingers!Ruthie loves horses (at least the kind that do not move).
The girls had a great time being with Grandpa and Grandma. It was nice to have a few extra hands to help keep everyone (especially a two year old) in line.
Grandpa Webb is modeling off the Dixie Stamped Boot Mugs that we had. The girls like to use them at all meal times now.Ruthie learned out how to do a flying raspberry at the show and likes to practice often now. If you don't know what that is just look at her go!After the show it had cooled off outside and it was the perfect evening for a little stroll down the strip. We found a little Christmas village where Ruthie was attacked by a bear (see related blog) and we hung out on a giant rocking chair. Mariah kept saying, "this was the best day of my entire life." It is a good thing she hasn't lived too long, but it was a very happy day.

Another good nights sleep at Hotel and we headed home on Thursday. It was not nearly as perfect as the car drive to Branson. However, we all made it home tired, happy and ready for another vacation! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Webb for coming with us.

The mugs are great. How fun you get to use and wash them all the time. I'm so glad it was the best day of her life.

Poor Ruthie. I can say we have had a few of those moments.
